| Now why did you do that? >Maybe you don't know why, but God does; and He let us in on it. Because we are descendants of Adam and Eve we are born with a sin nature. You do things God tells you not to, also known as sin, because you are a sinner. >You are lost and need to be rescued. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23) "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3) >You cannot save yourself. "Jesus saith onto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me." (John 14:6) "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) But there is a solution to your sin. God offers you salvation from your sin. What must I do to be saved? >Salvation is simple, but it is not cheap. It cost Jesus Christ everything so that salvation could be offered to us freely. God has made His salvation available on the basis of a personal faith which even a child can exercise. Everyone is reduced to the same level in the eyes of God, and all must come to Him on the same terms. (Romans 3:9,10; Galatians 3:22) "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9) >You must accept His gift of salvation. "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." (Isaiah 53:6) "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9) >You can be sure you are saved. "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." (John 10:28) "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:" (Philippians 1:6) "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." (Hebrews 7:25) "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23) |
